As I read Hebrews 4:12-16 this morning, I was reminded of how often I can try to hide from God. I hide because I want to do my own thing, in my own way - I am simply drawn towards selfishness. Selfishness that leads me further away from God. But His Word is designed to draw me back to Him so that He can teach me and show me what His will is.
When God says that His Word is living and active, and since Jesus is the Word, that is synonymous with saying that Jesus is living and active. I am so grateful that we worship a God who is living and active TODAY through His Word Jesus Christ. And through that I have a chance today to put aside my selfishness and my pride and to instead be righteous.
