May We Never Forget

As I read 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 this morning, I was once again reminded who I once was without Christ. A sinner, plain and simple. But God sent Christ to set me free from my sin. Christ was crucified for me (and you and all of humanity) and in that moment we were justified. Justification is the gift of the Gospel that we receive and declares usrighteous before God. But I have to accept that gift. I am justified as righteous because Jesus paid the penalty for my sin. In the moment that I accept the gift of justification, the lifelong process of sanctification begins in my life as God provides opportunities for me to grow and become more like Christ.
